Donation to Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica

On August 13, 2009, Tarun Handa, Managing Partner, KPMG in Jamaica (2nd from left), presented to Archibald Campbell, the newly elected President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica, (ICAJ), a cheque to assist with the construction of Phase II of the Institute’s building project.

The building project, which was divided into two phases, commenced ten years ago. Phase I of the project, is now complete and currently houses the ICAJ Secretariat. Phase II of the project has started, and involves the construction of an additional 9,500 square feet of office space on two floors.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica is Jamaica’s professional accounting body, charged with the responsibility of training and developing accountants so that members stay at the cutting edge of their profession and meet the needs of the Jamaican society.

ICAJ’s contribution to Jamaica’s sustained economic and social development has been critical to the development of professional accountants in the public and private sector. KPMG is pleased to support ICAJ’s goal to be the centre of excellence for accountancy in Jamaica.
